Brittany Ackerman is the author of the award-winning memoir The Perpetual Motion Machine. That debut, a must-read in its own right, came out before Debutiful existed. Luckily, she shifted to fiction and wrote a hilarious and heartwarming debut novel called The Brittanys. The book is set in the early-2000s where a group of friends, all named Brittany, get into the typical trouble teens do. Ackerman’s sense of teenage emotions makes this a must read for anyone who loves the genre.
The author joined the podcast to discuss high school drama, being funny, and the importance of having a writing community. Listen below.
