Alexandra Chang grew up in Northern California where she eventually became a technology journalist, including writing for Wired. She’s since moved across the country, obtained an MFA from Syracuse, and wrote her debut novel Days of Distraction. The book follows a narrator who has a similar life to Chang, but the book is far from autofiction.

Adam Vitcavage is joined by Alexandra Chang to talk about her debut book Days of Distraction. The author discusses her time as a tech journalist, how writing her debut changed her personally and as a writer, as well as how style comes to be.
