Matthew Clark Davison wasn’t always a writer, but he was always a storyteller. It wasn’t until someone saw something in him that encouraged him to write in his early-20s and he’s been doing it ever since.

The SFSU writing teacher released his debut novel Doubting Thomas earlier in June and spoke with Debutiful about queerness and brotherhood.

In Thomas, the titular character is an openly gay teacher whose life is upended when a boy says something about an innocent incident to his parents and they assume the worst.
