Her book, Too Much: How Victorian Constraints Still Bind Women Today, explores how assertive (and horny, and emotional, and funny) women today face difficulties based on biases built hundreds of years ago. Her book is equally funny as it is inormative. Cote honed her writing through the years at numerous publications, including writing “Fake Friends” an essay series at Jezebel.
