Charlotte, the debut novel by Elizabeth Ferris, is a historical reimagining of Charlotte Brontë’s life during the turbulent year she wrote Jane Eyre. Facing rejection from publishers, financial pressures, and expectations that women abandon their literary ambitions, Brontë refuses to surrender her dream of becoming a novelist.

Ferris is a writer and writing teacher based in West Virginia. She holds an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte and has taught at the Studio School at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Richmond Young Writers.

Charlotte will be published by William Morrow on April 6, 2027, the anniversary of Jane Eyre’s publication. It is available for pre-order now!

Colby Cotton’s debut poetry collection, Steelhead, is a meditation on grief, loneliness, and the lasting impact of loss. Written in the aftermath of a childhood friend’s death by suicide, the collection moves through dreamlike landscapes where the boundaries between life and the afterlife blur, exploring the search for a home we can never truly return to.

It will be released by University of Pittsburgh Press on February 16, 2027, and is available for pre-order now.

Cotton is a former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University whose work has appeared in Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, The Iowa Review, and elsewhere. Originally from New York, he now lives in Los Angeles.

Nikki Ervice is the winner of the VQR Emily Clark Balch Prize for fiction, whose work has also appeared in The VQR, The Iowa Review, Colorado Review, Washington Square Review, and Passages North. Her debut novel, Roadshow, is set to be released on November 10, 2026, by Astra House.

Roadshow follows Annie, a burned-out New York performer who leaves behind her life of bartending and burlesque to drive cross-country to Alaska after receiving a letter from her mother, who abandoned her at birth. As her journey grows increasingly desperate and dangerous, Annie confronts questions of identity, inheritance, and survival while being pulled toward a final reckoning with her past. Blending grit and intimacy, the novel explores the cost of passion and the fragile ties between family, class, and selfhood.
